  • Limited Edition Polaroid Collage with Compact Disc.
    Poster/Print

To prepare for the album release, we took a series of Polaroid portraits of Joy & Gordon at their home, in front of Joy's amazing painting. Shot by David McCarty on rare and out of print Polaroid 600 film, and hand-lettered, there is only one of these unique artifacts.

If you purchase this special package, you get the custom CD plus this two-Polaroid collage. You will also receive a handwritten lyric sheet from Joy, plus a selection of Delicate Cycle fliers from years past. Basically it's the GRAND PRIZE of Delicate Cycle memories.

This version of the collage didn't make the final cut of the album--we used a slightly different incarnation. Rest assured that you will be getting a unique piece of art that helped support the Delicate Cycle's music.

I took the last and only train back to my home I am alive, I’m alive, I’m alive, and I am glad about it. And when I saw you standing at the door, I saw my love, you’re my love, you’re my love, and I am glad about it. We have the summer leaves, we have the sun, We have the heat, we have heat, we have heat, and we are glad about it. And you and I are just the way we always were, my love. You’re my love, you’re my love, and I am glad about it.

Ohio 02:24
Ohio, I’ve done nothing wrong, I’ve made no plans I watched the Warrior River from the rock and washed my hands Of Ohio, Ohio, Ohio. I stayed on the front porch, I never went inside, I know I said a lot to you, but I never made it up, I never made it up until Ohio, Ohio, Ohio. There’s a composition book And a handful of letters There’s a version of the truth An opinion, an opinion Of Ohio, Ohio, Ohio. Ohio, I’ve done nothing wrong, I cross my heart And every promise is a deed undone, a brand new start For Ohio, Ohio, Ohio.

Biology 01:34
We are the great love song of the river and the sea, We are the biology of the flower and the seed, And if you ever want to know how much you mean to me, Ask I’ll tell you right away, no fingers crossed until my dying day. You wrote your phone number down, and then you drew a map In my Graham Greene paperback. (What Graham Greene paperback?) It was The End of the Affair, it was The End of the Affair, It was the end of all my sleepless nights, wrapping myself tight to keep from dying.
4.
Oh, oh, oh, bless my heart, I’ve pushed it around so many times I don’t know where to start Counting cracks. Oh, oh, oh, bless my soul. The channel between us is deep and wide I don’t have enough cash to pay the toll to get to your side. Whose side am I on? Whose side am I on? I’m standing up to my knees in the rising tide. Oh, oh, oh, bless my back. I’ve shouldered the weight of some thirty-odd years, Now I’m throwing them down on the rusty tracks ‘Cause I’m through, oh I’m through. Whose side am I on? Whose side am I on? I’m standing up to my knees in the rising tide.

Onion Skin 03:11
I was born in an onion skin, I turned the lions down I was born in an onion skin, I found my way around Down to my own kind in a straight line underground I found my own kind in a straight line underground I learned fast to tell the truth and then to hide my face ‘Cause darkness lives where all things grow, No matter what they say There’s no straight path to get you where you’re going No there’s no straight path Accept the path you’re on I was born the final sister in a wooden room One was green, the other yellow, all have eyes of blue There’s no way now to return from whence we’ve come We cannot go back or remember where we’re from I was born in an onion skin, I turned the lions down I was born in an onion skin, I turned the lions down I will die among the ashes in a frozen plain My breath will turn to storming clouds, the sky will fill with rain There’s no straight path to get me where I’m going There’s no straight path to get me where I’m going I was born in an onion skin, I turned the lions down I was born in an onion skin, I found my way around Down to my own kind in a straight line underground I found my own kind in a straight line underground

I put you in my body, let you move around I’ll give you all the breath I find underground I put you on a boat over the sea Let my hair be the curtain you hide underneath You’ll be the sweet scent of my favorite rose And your eyes will be mirrors where good things reflect and grow When your lips grow tired of sleeping and sighing, I’ll capture your words and like treasures, I’ll hide them, I’ll hide them. When the leaves fall And the moon is hidden Don’t you fear, dear, I’ll find your hand I’ll find your hand. In summer and autumn, winter, and spring, I’ll be the sweet bird that outside your window sings. In winter and springtime, summer, and fall, You’ll be the sun rising and setting and warming us all, Warming us all. When the leaves fall And the moon is hidden Don’t you fear, dear, I’ll find your hand I’ll find your hand.

Oak and holly, tangled roots Saw you leaving out the back door baby every Silent Sunday afternoon We hate to leave, But we must, oh. Nine times five is forty-five A year has gone but it still ain’t easy. And it seems you’ve changed to something new, But you sound the same And the air is heavy with you. Go on down the row On down the row If you chant into the dark, Your body lifts from the ground, I’ve heard it happens. If you want it bad enough, it won’t hurt And your eyes will finally open. Go on down the row On down the row

We Are Birds 03:24
Did you know when I walked into the room You were gonna throw a line to me And I’d be a fool not to grab ahold of you When you wanted to get me Did you get the measure of the fortune tellers Did you count every card in the deck Cause it’s near impossible to change from a fighter to a lover And keep from turning back, turning back (Bum ba ba ba) We are birds, Well aren’t we? (Bum ba ba ba) I’ll watch you while you watch me (Bum ba ba ba, bum bum) We are, oh we are birds We are birds What’s a feeling and what does it matter What’s a message, what’s a word? Don’t worry, I’m not waiting for an answer, I got what I needed (Bum ba ba ba) We are birds, Well aren’t we? (Bum ba ba ba) I’ll watch you while you watch me (Bum ba ba ba, bum bum) We are, oh we are birds We are birds

Thought you could fly when I met you, there were promises and plans Had the road out before you, and I knew you knew something You’re like oil in the ocean, you rise black through the heart In your wake you leave islands, you leave mountains where you should’ve been Here’s a word to the weak Don’t lay blame and don’t speak Here’s a word to the weak Don’t lay blame and don’t speak Here’s a word, here’s a word When I hear that phone a-ringing, guess I always see your name With my name right beside it, Pointing fingers even at the grave Here’s a word to the weak Don’t lay blame and don’t speak Here’s a word to the weak Don’t lay blame and don’t speak Here’s a word, here’s a word

Well, I wrote a song for you, little blue thing in my mind Could be hours, could be days, I stay worried all the time My hair’s grown long with grief Over every bad thing I’ve heard, thing I’ve said, thing I’ve done Get over it Little blue thing Get over it Little blue thing Don’t have to be such a true thin Get over it, Oh let it go I hate to let go of the demons that followed me here When I moved to this town My hair’s grown long with grief I’ve gotten from hanging on to Every word, every thought, everyone Get over it, little blue thing Get over it, little blue thing Don’t have to be such a true thing Get over it, oh let it go My hair’s grown long with grief Over every bad thing I’ve heard, thing I’ve said, thing I’ve done Get over it, Little blue thing (oh get your shit together girl) Get over it, Little blue thing (come on, get your shit together girl) Don’t have to be such a true thing (oh get your shit together girl) Get over it, oh let it go (Come on, come on)

Athena 01:33
You’ve got grey eyes like Athena You’ve got grey eyes like the sea You’ve got power that I never dreamed of You’ve got powers over me When the night is lonesome, and I fear the sun won’t rise, I see you there like fair Athena with your beautiful grey eyes. You’ve got grey eyes like Athena You’ve got grey eyes like the sky You’ve got sweetness that I never dreamed of On the warmest summer night When I’m feeling fearsome, and when I feel afraid I see you there like brave Athena with your pretty eyes of grey.
